Will my USB drives run as soon at they are inserted into a device?

Only "if" the device is set up to "Auto-Run". (It has nothing to do with the drive). On some PC's you can change a setting that will allow this type of data to auto run. Mac's will not auto run. There would need to be some type of manual manipulation to open the files (from a command).
